Can't Update My Files

I'm unable to connect to my laptop on my network via the My Files app (like I've done for years)

My Files says it needs an update, but when I try to update it just says "cannot connect to server".

Doesn't matter whether I'm on WiFi or Mobile data, My Files always says "can't connect to the server"

Also, I can't find any Samsung app called "My Files" in the Samsung store to do a manual update from the store.

Is there a fix for this?

1. My Files says I need an update. So I click "Update"

2. It says it's "opening the Galaxy Store"

3. It always fails (100% reproducible), saying that it can't connect to the server

4. However, I can open the Galaxy Store directly from the Galaxy Store app with no problem... so I don't know why it's saying "can't connect to server"

Same issue since the start of April. Issue is with Network Storage Manager (NSM). Only fix was installing the latest update of NSM from apkmirror. NSM can't be installed at all for me through my files and Galaxy Store doesn't have it anymore (Might just be a Canada thing?). I'm with you on hesitancy using third party installed apps especially one that's going to be accessing my private server.

I just fixed my issue after searching for over a month.

 

I went into settings>apps>network storage manager>app details in store>click update. 

 

I stumbled on it by chance 🤷

Thanks, this solved the problem.  No need for apk mirror etc. This method actually updated the network storage manager.

This was a bug which stopped NSM to update along with rest of updates.
