In North American phones, there is no way to disable data roaming for primary SIM, but enabling it for an eSim. A lot of people have same issue and Samsung is not doing anything. This is a headache..
I might have a work around, but I am looking opinions whether it will work or I will still be hit with Roaming charges when Abroad.
Under Data Usage section of the Settings you can set a Data limit and you can do that separately for each Sim. When you go over the limit it supposed to shut data off. What happens I set the primary SIM limit very low, effectively shutting data off for that SIM. Will that work, or will I still be hit with roaming charge (per day charges as a lot of companies do)

Hi Allcast,

Your workaround of setting a low data limit for your primary SIM under the Data Usage section could help prevent excessive data usage, but it may not fully stop roaming charges. Many carriers still apply a roaming charge as soon as the phone connects to a foreign network, regardless of data usage.

To avoid roaming charges on your primary SIM while abroad, consider:

Disabling mobile data entirely for the primary SIM under mobile network settings.

Using flight mode and manually enabling Wi-Fi or eSIM data.

While setting a data limit might help reduce data usage, it may not completely prevent the primary SIM from connecting to a roaming network.

Thank you.
