Go to Settings > Apps >Search for Edge Lighting & Click on it and Scroll down to Storage & Clear Both Cache & Data for the app and Reboot.. See if that works for you?

Galaxy STwo last things I can think of.. Boot into Recovery and Wipe Cache (don't think that it'll fix it?).
Factory Reset & don't restore anything.. initially. Edge Lighting effects should definitely be gone.
Or just tell her that it's you wishing her Happy Valentine's day every time 😉😊
