GS9 not working as well since the update

Since the update to Pie my GS9 that's turning 1yr in 6 weeks has been so laggy and the battery life has gone down, not when sitting but while using it. 

It used to run so smoothly now it takes its time and isn't as responsive when using it. Even writing this is a pain in the as!

I searched through my apps and deleted anything I had downloaded since the update, which I've done before and it's fixed the phone. But not this time. 

Anyone else having phone issues since the update?

My phone seems to take longer to charge.

Is quick charge enabled on your settings?

I noticed that a bit too, mine gets hot when charging, noticeably where's before it got warm but not really hot

I had some issues but I backed up my device with Smart Switch onto my SD card and did a factory reset. My issues were instantly solved. Before you do that try wiping the cache partion. Search the forum for the procedure...quick and easy to do.

that's what I was afraid of...I have SO much stuff on my phone. it's going to take me a few hours. thanks for the tip I'll get it sorted and try a factory reset

Welcome to the factory reset club! My fiancee is aghast at how many apps I have on my phone lol

ya I just did a factory reset today to see if I would get better performance, before wasn't too bad really but there seem it be some studders once in a while. I've had some issues with new device set ups and new O.S upgrades. so I think a factory reset maybe a best practice for me for now on. so far it appears to be better now.

Yeah it's a bit of a pain - But it goes faster than you might think - Backup your phone with Smart Switch - Use the Mobile App & Most Settings - Call & Text logs - User apks - Home Screen settings etc are backed up - But it's well worth doing - Did I say - Factory Reset lol 🕊️🐧
