Hi everyone,

I need some help here. 2 days ago I got an update to my phone. Ever since the update, my phone's battery life has been decreasing. It will charge till 100% so quickly and then it doesn't even take 30 minutes for my phone to loose all the charge.

I have tried wiping the partition cache but still no luck. Does this mean I have to replace the battery?

Any help is appreciated.

Open the Samsung Members app & Click on Support > Phone Diagnostics and run the Diagnostics for the Battery. If it says the battery health is bad = Replace it.

In that case, follow @Helenna's instructions.

Hi Mokes,

We understand how concerning it can be to experience rapid battery drain after an update. Since you've already wiped the cache partition, here are some additional steps to help diagnose and resolve the issue:

Check Battery Usage: Go to Settings > Battery & device care > Battery > Usage since last full charge to see which apps or processes are consuming the most power. If a particular app is draining the battery, try force-stopping or uninstalling it.

Optimize Battery Settings: Enable Battery Saver Mode under Settings > Battery Toggle Adaptive Battery under Battery > More battery settings Disable Background Apps: Go to Settings > Apps, select an app, and tap Battery > Restrict background usage

Try restarting your phone by holding the Power + Volume Down buttons for about 10 seconds.

Boot into Safe Mode: Press and hold the power button. Tap and hold Power off, then select Safe mode. Observe battery performance for a few hours. If the battery lasts longer, a third-party app might be the issue. Try uninstalling recently installed apps.

After an update, the system may take a couple of days to optimize processes in the background. If the issue persists beyond 3-5 days, consider further troubleshooting.

If nothing works, you may need to back up your data and perform a factory reset.
