How do I send a text message on my Samsung galaxy a50??

I need it explained to Me like I'm 5 yes old

I know the persons cel number but I don't know how to enter and send it

Hi, these steps demonstrate on how to send a text message to a number in your contacts or to a number you don’t have saved on your phone

1. From the home screen, tap the Messages icon

2. Tap the Compose icon

3. Tap the Contacts icon.

4. Tap on the contact you wish to send the message to.

5. You can choose a default phone number for a contact by tapping Set As Default. Otherwise, tap Select.

6. Tap Done.

7. If you want to send the message to a number that isn’t in your contacts, enter the phone number and then tap Next.

8. Enter the text of your message and then tap the Send icon.

As a 5 year old how I did it was go on the phone app add it as a new contact save it and then you'll have the option to text or call
