Hello! I am new to having a samsung and I just just got a samsung S22 ultra .

I have no idea if I'm missing something or if  it is just unavailable at the moment.

I want to change individual app notification sounds. Example; I want my text messages to have a different sound than a new email. I have looked at how you would change them for the S21 and it does not seem to be the same . Used the three little dots to change individual app settings and the option to change the sound down not appear. Settings for the phone and nothing.

Please help! Thank you!

Open Samsung messages > 3 dots > settings > Notifications > Notification categories > New messages > sound > choose your preferred sound in the list.

* Assuming you're using Samsung messages.

All that sounds good but, here's the problem. "NEW MESSAGES" that option seems to not appear for any app I want to change. Also I don't see the option to use my created sound for an individual app either. These default notification sounds are horrible

That last part I stand corrected. I can still create my own notifications and ringtones

If you use Google Messages you would click on 'Incoming Messages'.

I do NOT have that option AT ALL. I need my text message notification sound to be different from other notification sounds. The only options that appear when clicking on the 3 dots are: Allow sound and vibration or Deliver quietly. THERE IS NOTHING THAT LETS ME CHOOSE A SPECIFIC NOTIFICATION SOUND ONLY FOR TEXT MESSAGES!!!!!! Please help me make that happen.

well that makes no sense.  I do not use Samsung Messages, and also the question was how to change an individual app notification sound.  I am having the same issue. On my note 10 I was able to make my message one sound, and my email another, and my Microsoft teams another, so without looking at my phone I know what was alerted.  This was simple to do through the settings-apps-go to the app, and then change the notification sound in there..... that is no longer the case on my 22 ultra.  I must be missing something as well.

If you use Google Messages instead of Samsung Messages the instructions works as well except you click on 'Incoming Messages' instead. Then you find 'Sound' and click on it. I know this works because I have a new S22 Ultra.
