while on vacation my S8+ wouldn't charge because there was a moisture detection in charging port. at no time was the cell near water; however, the place was humid. I contacted Samsung and there only solution was to send it in for service. this cell should be dust and water resistance/proof so why is it malfunctioning in humidity? are there any tips available before I ship this lemon phone to Samsung?

Wow. Wonder if there is another error for it to still be giving you that message. Like maybe something malfunctioning. Best of luck.

Great suggestions everyone! And @Crisie, if you continue to have issues after trying the suggestion solutions, please contact your local Samsung Service Center (http://www.samsung.com/ca/support).

I'm having the same issues.... and my phone has been by me for a week in my bed as I'm recovering from a severe concussion. No water or moisture has been near it at all! I've sent in my info hopefully for someone to reply soon. I have figured out a way to make the charging work. Take the thing that you use to open the SD card/sim card, or a toothpick or just something small and skinny, grab some TP or Kleenex and gently get into the usb port and clean it. EVEN THOUGH there's nothing in there, do this, then plug er in, it should start charging. Pain in the arse is what that is, 1000$ kick ass phone and what I believe to be a problem with moisture sensor. as it's IP68 rated this shouldn't be an issue. Regardless I'm only writing this because it's a quick fix that's worked for me and hopefully will work for someone else until Samsung gets there shit together!! Seriously considering going back to the iPhone.
