My Samsung Galaxy s10 stopped showing caller ID. Always says unknown now. What can I do to fix it?

Do you mean someone call you and show unknown? Or you call your friends, you show unknown on their phones?

For the settings, you can try go to Phone app → 3 dots on top right → Settings → Supplementary services → Show your caller ID

You can choose Always or Network default

This is control your phone show your caller ID or not. But not for incoming calls.

Hi Palmtree22, are you saying that you are unable to see the names in your contacts? Could you share the screenshots?

In the Dialer Settings, do you have Caller i.d. toggled ON?

In Contacts, 3 dot menu Middle Left, what do you have as your Source for your Contacts? ie: Google account, Samsung account, SIM or Phone etc.

If you accidentally changed the source to SIM for example, & it doesn't have any contacts saved to it, then that may explain why you don't have anything in Favorites.

If you are using an account that has contacts in it, then you may want to contact your Carrier.

I have the same issue. Every caller who trys to call me shows up as Private number.
Rogers did all that they could, not fixed. Samsung said they did all they could over the phone, chat and remote access, not fixed. I did a factory reset as a last resort, not fixed.
I called a 3rd party, and they told me it is an antenna issue inside my s10. I would have to either send it to Samsung to have it fixed or buy a new phone. Both are expensive options. Correct me if these options are wrong.

I'm guessing that you have verified that the Dialer Settings have Show Caller ID?

It's also possible that it's a SIM card issue.

Before sending your device in for service. Get a new SIM card from your Carrier (should be free). See if that works for you.

Like I said in my message. Rogers tried everything, including a SIM card replacement.

I missed that you said you tried a new SIM card.

No worries, I didn't say it directly. The Rogers people were quite good, they have a Samsung specialist at the store I deal with. It's just disappointing that Caller ID worked the last day of May 2022 and then stopped working the next day in June 2022.
