Despite being advertised, One UI 6.1.1 update is still not available on my S23 Ultra device in Canada. I'm on TELUS and their update schedule said Sept 17.... Does anyone have any inside updates about why this is delayed?

So apparently it had a huge bug in the camera, maybe thats why it got delayed. The zoom processing has gone way way worse.

I already assume that since we are in Canada, there will always be delays with updates. If it's not the case then it's by pure chance

Canadian Carriers probably don't know why there's a delay, and remember that they base their TENTATIVE OS Update Schedules based on the information they receive from Samsung Canada.

OS Updates come from Samsung's Servers, not the Canadian Carriers.

Honestly, I don't really care about the One UI V6.1.1 OS Update, I am more interested in the September Security Patch OTA.

One UI V7.0 will be here soon enough, and more refined than the half a$$ed 6.1.1 update, which has reportedly removed features, until One UI V7.0.

Actually Canadian carriers are always in the know for updates as they work closely with Samsung Canada to create the release schedules. I used to work for TELUS for years. The releases started on Sept 13 and was scheduled for Sept 17 for the S23 series from what I read. I guess we will see! I'm interested in getting every update for the phone to improve my overall experience! 😄

If this was actually the case, then Canadian Carriers would be far more accurate with their OS Update Schedules..

Carriers do some light and unnecessary testing. Carriers submit requests for changes/additions if needed (this only happens once or twice a year). Then, Samsung releases the update. Carriers do not, in any way, release the update. This may be true in USA, where AT&T and Verizon have more advanced involvement in update development and even run their own FOTA servers, but not here or the rest of the world.

But whatever.. the history of the accuracy of the Canadian Carriers Update Schedules would suggest that they don't work as closely with Samsung as one might suspect.

I never said the carrier releases the update, I'm aware that it comes from the manufacturer, but the carriers will test and request changes to suit their networks to ensure things work properly and customers have the best experience and this is done with every security release and android update. And then updates are scheduled in groups of models and released on specified days per the carrier agreements with the manufacturer. And the carriers are usually very accurate with their release dates unless big changes need to be made and things are pushed back!
