Modes and routines are not working since few days. Tried clearing cache and data restarting phone and even updated latest software release for UI 7.0 released in Sept 2025.

Modes and Routines when opened first just loads and loads forever. After few minutes when you take it again and select any mode to set the screen just hangs up and you are not able to do anything.

Please fix this issue As soon as possible

Try go to recovery mode and do the Wipe Cache Partition:

- Power off your phone
- Press and hold vol up and power key until you are in recovery mode
- use vol up and down to navigate
- select Wipe Cache Partition
- press power key to confirm
- click yes
- click reboot system

Hi Kejikurien,

It is unusual to hear that you are experiencing issues with the Modes and Routines feature on your Galaxy S23. We understand how important this functionality is for optimizing your device experience, and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Please try with the below trouble shooting steps to fix the issue.

1. Check App Permissions

  • Go to Settings > Modes and Routines.

  • Ensure the app has all necessary permissions (location, notifications, etc.).

2. Update Software

  • Make sure your device is running the latest version of One UI and Samsung Health (if linked).

  • Go to Settings > Software Update and check for updates.

3. Clear Cache

  • Navigate to Settings > Apps > Modes and Routines > Storage.

  • Tap Clear Cache (avoid clearing data unless necessary).

4. Reset Routines

  • Try deleting and recreating the routine.

  • Sometimes routines get corrupted after an update and need to be rebuilt.

5. Check Battery Optimization

  • Go to Settings > Battery and Device Care > Battery > Background Usage Limits.

  • Make sure Modes and Routines is not restricted.

6. Safe Mode Test

  • Boot into Safe Mode to check if a third-party app is interfering.

  • If Modes and Routines work in Safe Mode, an app may be causing the issue.

  • If none of these steps resolve the issue, we recommend submitting a report via the Samsung Members app under Support > Error Reports.   Our team will review the case thoroughly and provide further assistance as needed.
