My Galaxy S20 starts flickering a week ago and now it has a green-white screen that the phone is not usable anymore.
I contacted Samsung at first and they suggested a factory reset on the device. It not only does not solve the problem, after a week it suddenly shows the green-white screen which is not usable anymore. Apparently, it happens a lot to S series phones. I also called the Executive Customer Department but they refuse to repair the device for free since the warranty expires 2 months ago. The phone has no physical damage and is in perfect condition (physically) and I believe something is wrong with the device itself.
It is such a disappointing experience with Samsung, especially with such as expensive device.

"Apparently, it happens a lot to S series phones".. it's never happened to any of my S series devices, or to any of my Note devices either.

It's likely either a hardware issue, or in spite of no visible physical damage, a device that was dropped.

You can see if Samsung will extend some "goodwill" in covering the cost of an out of warranty device, but I'm not sure how optimistic I would be.

Definitely a hardware issue if it hasn't suffered any physical abuse. Either GPU, display, motherboard... possible culprits for this. It definitely has to be serviced.

Hi Peyman1, We suggest you to get the phone examined by the service technician to determine the root cause of the issue.

If you had purchased care+ plan you can also avail it.

https://www.samsung.com/ca/support/service-center/

Please find the nearest Samsung Authorised Service Centre by the given link.

Thank you.

I had the same issue.

Somehow I can recover it by doing below..

When the screen is white,

Press power + volume down button until the screen black.

It is automatically restart after black screen. When white screen come up, press power button untill the screen black.

It solves my S20 phone problem.

Thanks..

I tried this and didn't work. I somehow managed to see some shadows and was able to connect to my TV wirelessly via DeX and flick some GPU settings on and off, but nothing worked. I restarted several times, turned it off for a few hours, and finally, left it charging for some time and left it alone (and disconnected from DeX) and it suddenly the image came back!  I'm mostly sure it's a driver issue, not directly hardware.

Once it started working again many settings were messed up, including screen/text size, wallpaper, and specially permissions for most apps. I did a Settings Reset and things came back to normal. I just had to change minor settings back to how I like them. No idea what of what I did (if anything) ended up fixing it, or if it just fixed itself.
