Text message icon

Hi all

I switched from an S20+ to an S22 ultra.

When I use the dial pad, keypad, I have a text option bottom left corner. 

Updated the phone, that went to Google video call, disabled it and went back to text button.

After restarting phone, now I have Video calling.

Can't figure it out.

Any help would be great

I understand, I just don't do video call. The text option is just a step faster for me. Again, thanks for the replies and comments. Appreciate all help and advice

Hi, without entering any number in the dial pad then you will get "send message" option only.

Unfortunately, you will not get the option without inputting a number.

Hmm, not sure what u mean here. When no number is entered u get nothing. You just see the dial pad.You only see an Icon once a number is inputted.
I spoke to customer support, they tried everything they could and were not able to resolve.
I have to submit a ticket for an error. Waiting for an email apparently

It's not an error. 

It's not logical to use the phone Dialer to send texts. 

Good luck waiting for any email coherent or otherwise from Samsung support.

Again. I'm glad it works for ya, truly I am.
You were always able to send a text using the icon on the phone dialer, logical or not 😀

I have no doubt whatsoever that they told you that. 

Unfortunately I also have little doubt, that you're quite likely to be disappointed in whatever response you receive from them, if any lol 

Samsung does make some great hardware, but their customer service, in either reliability, or knowledge is lacking, and that's being polite 😉

Totally agree, that things the tech was checking made zero sense. I will have to get use to doing the other way, it will be fine.
