Wi-Fi calling
After updating one UI 6 in Canada Samsung S23Ultra. Wi-Fi calling not working as suppose to be. I have update wifi calling setting with my provider for make sure all up-to-date 911 information. Turn off and on the toggle, but still not working Wifi calling feature. Keep in note I have very high speed internet with wifi 6. Any solution for this ?

i have tried everything, no success.

i visited samsung service center and they said try factory reset as they will do the same if i give my phone to them. if the problem still persists, they said we'll replace the motherboard :(

Update:

@jojodee seems to have found a workaround (though not a fix) that worked on my phone.

I turned Location on, toggled WiFi calling off and then on again, and the WiFi calling icon showed up in the status bar.

As an experiment, I turned location off, and it still appeared to be working (icon stayed in place).

As soon as I rebooted my phone with Location off, however, it stopped working.

As @Jaskaran_Bajwa stated, this is still a problem; I never used to need Location turned on for it to work; I keep Location turned off most of the time both for battery life as well as privacy. So this issue is definitely a software problem, and still needs to be addressed by Samsung.

Even if you succeed, there is still an issue. Please watch this video that I have created .. https://youtu.be/4usZa4319OU?si=Jq2ZeEB2NtJn4nud

Hi. I was having the same problem with my wifi calling not working after update. For some reason the location needs to be on and remain on for it to work. I hope this is helps.

Location needs to be enabled for Emergency Services.

It is my understanding that Emergency Services do not have access to Location data, that's why they want you to register your emergency address with your provider.

Again, Location was not required before the UI 6 update. It should not be required now.

Location was always required for WiFi Calling with Rogers BEFORE One UI V6.0 & all the time going back. Yes that's what I said.

If someone dials 911, they need to be able to find you.

Location was a requirement for me to enable WiFi Calling with Rogers.

they said that , but it does the wording did not ''ask'' to enable location .
I'm relying on wifi calling since 2015, like all the time, no choice and I'm on Rogers since then. It's ONLY since december 2023, magically with the 6.0 ui update, that I have to enable it. All my family phone still on UI 5.x and it STILL works WITHOUT location turned on.

Already, Rogers and other voIP provider ask the address, and no location needed on the phone.
