I just wanted to share an issue that I had with our Samsung stove and possibly connect with others whom have had the same experience. While the oven was on, we heard a loud pop and saw flames coming up from behind the control panel. Fortunately, the fire did not last long and there was no damage done, however, it could've been much worse. I did some research, and it appears that this is not an isolated issue with this model stove.

You can download an excel report here from this US website;

https://www.saferproducts.gov/PublicSearch

There are also multiple reports on the US Samsung forums;

https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/forums/searchpage/tab/message?advanced=false&allow_punctuation=f...

The stove was manufactured in April 2016. A recall has not been issued as far as I know.

I contacted Samsung and they have agreed to replace the control panel, however, I am concerned that they are replacing the panel with an equally defective and potentially dangerous part. When I contacted Samsung to get more information regarding the replacement parts, I was brushed off and told not to worry. All that I am asking for is some assurance that Samsung have recognized there is a problem with these control panels and that the replacement parts are safe to use.

Thankfully I found these forums before buying Samsung even further.  We own a refrigerator and were going to go with the oven, dishwasher and microwave.

We are running, not walking away from Samsung.

We also had this happen recently. Massive smoke fire in the house and it has made a mess of our life with a newborn. We were using a regular baking function at 350F... heard a loud bang and flames were coming out of the back.  IMG_6247.jpegIMG_6248.jpegIMG_6249.jpegIMG_6250.jpegIMG_6251.jpegIMG_6253.jpegIMG_6255.jpeg

Ours caught fire today 5/14/24. Looking through this thread this is a common issue and I am shocked that it sounds like Samsung has done nothing about this issue.

Same thing happened to us 6/9/24 trying to cook a pizza (sound familiar). Fortunately, I herd the buzzing and thought that was odd on my way to investigate it started smoking. Immediately turned it off and shutoff at the breaker.  Anyone have any luck escalating with Samsung?  No way will I be fixing- its going to recycling, but I wouldn't mind some reimbursement- should last longer than it did and should not catch on fire!

Mine caught fire today, 06/17/2024. I am shocked Samsung has not done anything with all of the fires I am reading about with their ranges. Almost burned my house down. All we did was turn the oven on regular convection bake, and a loud pop and then flames.

Came here to say the same as all of you... 6/22/24 went to preheat my oven (purchased April 2016 black stainless glass top electric range), heard the popping and saw the flames and smoke. After seeing all of these comments when I was searching online that night I decided to contact Samsung and see what comes of it. I went through a claim process and had to video with them to show the damage and confirm model etc.. Today (6/27) a technician came out and basically did the exact same thing, however, confirmed with Samsung while he was here that it is considered a total loss and is unrepairable because the fire caused damage to the "frame", not that I would have been comfortable using it even repaired! Now we wait and see what Samsung says and offers. This should 100% be a recall - the news stories, Comsumer Product Safety Commission reports and so on make it so evident. Such a disappointment!

Just had an issue earlier this month similar to everyone else. Was preheating the oven, heard a loud sound. Come to the kitchen, the oven is powered off and smoking. I immediately unplugged it. It tripped the circuit breaker. Later took the back off and noticed burn marks. I haven't contacted Samsung since I purchased my electric rang in 2015. I can still use the stove top just not the oven and it's a major inconvenience. After seeing all the comments on this post, I'm afraid to have it repaired. Not sure how I feel about Samsung products now. As anyone filed a complaint with BBB? I'm going to check into that.

My turn! Model NE59J7630SS/AA caught fire on 08/04/24. My photos are the same as everyone else and the fire was in the same spot. I filed a claim this morning and am waiting to hear.

I'm so glad my husband and I got to it quickly. This could have been a lot worse. Hopefully Samsung is doing something about it.20240805_084254.jpg
