I just wanted to share an issue that I had with our Samsung stove and possibly connect with others whom have had the same experience. While the oven was on, we heard a loud pop and saw flames coming up from behind the control panel. Fortunately, the fire did not last long and there was no damage done, however, it could've been much worse. I did some research, and it appears that this is not an isolated issue with this model stove.

You can download an excel report here from this US website;

https://www.saferproducts.gov/PublicSearch

There are also multiple reports on the US Samsung forums;

https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/forums/searchpage/tab/message?advanced=false&allow_punctuation=f...

The stove was manufactured in April 2016. A recall has not been issued as far as I know.

I contacted Samsung and they have agreed to replace the control panel, however, I am concerned that they are replacing the panel with an equally defective and potentially dangerous part. When I contacted Samsung to get more information regarding the replacement parts, I was brushed off and told not to worry. All that I am asking for is some assurance that Samsung have recognized there is a problem with these control panels and that the replacement parts are safe to use.

Same thing just happened to us. This seems to be an issue that has been happening for years. What is the update on this issue? We are not interested in repairing this thing. Seems all Samsung appliance are trash lately. Had to do major repairs on our refrigerator too. Cheap Chinese parts were the cause there. I’m sure it’s the same here. Very dangerous problem with these ranges.

We were cooking dinner for our extended family.  My wife and son said they saw a fire coming out the back of our oven.  Thank god my wife is a quick thinker and turned it off before anything was damaged.  I found this thread through a web search.  I removed the back panel and found we are victums of this issue too.oven.jpg

Now we are with out a oven for the near future.  I dont want to risk burning our house down!

So its been 4 weeks of working with Samsung to either replace or repair our range.  I wish they would have said from the beginning that they were going to replace parts or that it would have taken this long because I would have already purchased a new range.

IMG_0341.jpgI wish I saw this thread sooner...

This is a picture of a fire that destroyed the kitchen in my daughters house.  The fire inspector determined it started from the stove.  This all happened two days ago (June 13, 2023).

If the cause is from a failure of the control panel of the stove, and Samsung knows this is a problem with this model, then why have they not issued a recall yet?  Are you waiting to kill someone?

Same thing just happened to our oven on September 17, 2023 while it was preheating. I heard the relay arcing and then the pop as it ignited. Seconds later I pulled the stove away from the wall, unplugged it, and blew out the small fire on the burning relay. Minor burn marks on the tile backsplash but could have been much worse. Opened the stove and found the damage in the photo below. Wish I had googled more thoroughly earlier as i bought the replacement control board and the stove is now working as it did before the fire.

Honestly thinking of replacing the whole stove as I've got two kids under two in the house who couldn't escape on their own in the event of a fire.

I've got a whole kitchen of Samsung appliances and every one except the microwave has had a critical breakdown.

I think I'll be canceling my order of the new S23 phone as well.
