OthersAnyway, I have a 5 year old Samsung fridge RB194ACRS with a freezer that no longer cools. I have verified that the thermistor (sensor) in the freezer is functioning and that the resistance is correct at given temperatures according to Samsung resistance tables. So even though the sensor appears to be functional, if I plug it in and turn on the fridge, the fridge will show that both the fridge and freezer are slowly dropping in temperature to the desired set point.
HOWEVER, only the fridge actually drops in temperature. The freezer does not. Remember, the freezer sensor is functioning, but for some reason the display on the fridge shows the interior of the freezer is at -25 degrees Celsius, when it's actually only 0 degrees Celsius.
Upon viewing the evaporator coil, I note that there is some frosting on only a part of the upper coil. The defrost cycle does work and melts any frosting.
Please advise how a fridge that has not been abused has only lasted 5 years. This appears to be a common issue with Samsung and I would like to know what the fix is.

OthersI also have a five year old fridge. It has been a total dud. It has to be manually defrosted every day. Even then, I have to leave it unplugged over night at least one a month to defrost it. The ice maker has been jammed shut with ice build up for the last three years. Now there is water building up under the meat and cheese drawer.

I have seen extensive complaints on the U.S. Samsung site about this issue, but nothing on the Canadian site. That's probably because there isn't a support forum dedicated to refrigerators.

OthersI'm not as knowledge as you, @Shawn24, but can say that I have the same issues. This is a known problem that Samsung refuses to solve, beyond providing a wider drain evaporator clip .
Is it the sensor or the computer or a mechanical component? The repair company adds that blow-in insulation could
My freezer is -20 degrees right now with water and ice under the crisper drawer and the crisper is so cold that it's no usable. The drain tube in the back panel is frozen and causing that – but it's the symptom not the root cause.
It's shocking to me that Samsung has known this for at least the 5 years that I have also had my frig and barely admits there's a problem, let along find a solve.
