I'd like to say first off, I'm a fan of all of Samsungs products this is just my personal opinion.

I personally think Samsung needs to clean up their operating system in the next update (One Ui 3.0). For example, there is two different (or more) different types of apps for the same purpose, the Samsung one and the Google one... I mean, it must be possible to remove googles apps from factory? Android is a type of kernal not just an operating system. (Although I'm not fully clear on this)

Samsungs one Ui is not consistent at all. They use different icons for the same topic, they don't follow a color scheme across other Samsung apps and text can be too big or too small. There is no consistent content padding. Icons are about 1cm from the side and menus are right beside the bezel. It's not great

There are features on these Samsung phones that I didn't even know existed because they are either over complicated or poorly branded. Isn't there an AirDrop feature on Samsungs? Hmmm can you name it? Oh, yeah.. Quick share. Also, these features are either not even installed on factory, or they are not placed in a convenient place.

Have you seen the FULL apps list on Android? It's a disaster. I don't need to know about Com.samsung.livewallpaper.

Widgets are the same that they have been for YEARS. They don't fit properly on my screen and don't lock to the same grid that app icons are on.

The os itself looks kind of old. I know that one ui is adding blur effects though so... Thanks!

Last but not least. Animations. They aren't satisfying or consistent. They are sometimes glitch, sometimes swiping on the lockscreen doesn't unlock the phone because I didn't swipe far enough and etc....

Thanks for reading and hopefully Samsung takes some of this into consideration

see i agree but listen to this. samsung want you to use their services but Samsung also has an agreement with Google to that Google apps have to be on the phone. see where it gets messy ? Samsung has wanted to leave Google for a long time now so they could have all the pie but thats not cheap nor not happening in the next few years. they have been doing it slowly building up Tizen but its still far from what google ( android) is. smasung is using it in TV and smart watches as of now. see it be risk probably cost to billion dollar mark if they wanted to pay developers and such to start working on the os and pulling an app market.

Totally agree. Wish things would be easier on them. So many possibilities limited by time, money and risk

Yeah...sometime is a little confuse when using Samsung phones. Like Nearby Share/Quick Share, Google Pay/Samsung Pay ...etc. Like vape said, Google needs their apps on the phone, since Android is from Google. Unless Samsung develop their Tizen for their phones. Galaxy Watch is a good example, no Google Pay, no Google Assistant, no Nearby Share. Tizen OS has no Google products, straight Samsung products.

- Google Apps can't be removed. Unless you're in Europe, where there are strong consumer protection laws and the EU is actually interested in actuvely protecting consumers. There and only there, OEMs are able to only preload a small subset of the Google apps. Elsewhere, they do what Google tells them and that's it. And no, Android is an OS. And that OS is very reliant on Google Mobile Services (GMS), a huge proprietary component that holds a lot of functionality related to various important aspects of your device, like connectivity and GPS, to name a few. You **need** GMS, and to have GMS, you have to follow Google's rules. Simple.

The app list is long because these apps are just components of the OS. If you list all the .exe on your PC, you'll find a ton of them and you won't know about them at all, like csrss.exe. Yet, if you delete those, the OS won't work.
