I have several apps not related to the operating system that cannot be disabled.  Why should this be as any app a user has active could be a security risk and cause problems by laying dormant and possibly responding to internet or other apps.

An example is the Email app client.  I use the provider's app client for email and not another app client.  Example gmail I use their Gmail client. So why can't I disable the email app? it's grayed out.

Hi SamSungtwo, It's normal that downloaded apps will not have the option to disable. Even some preloaded apps can't be disabled(greyed out) to avoid situations that might affect the normal functioning of the mobile device. However, you can force stop which kills the activity of the application.

Force stop is not a solution. Should the user have to do that on every reboot for the apps they want to disable?

Samsung should at least allow disabling of their applications, and even better allow for uninstalling them. Especially since they are duplicating other applications that ship with their devices, such as the browser and email clients.

On my A50 this is a preinstalled app that I never use. This is not normal because this is an app and doesn't affect the operating system. Can you explain the use of the disable function?

Hi SamSungtwo and RobertZ,

As the name implies, disabling the applications turns them off so that they won't show on the list of apps on your phone. Disabling an app may cause related apps to function improperly.

However, we will take this as your suggestion and forward this for review.

Pay money for something Samsung forces on users to make the phone unsecure! No. What if the app you suggest doesn't remove the app just like the app list on the phone doesn't display all apps.

"Because it shows all apps" What does that mean?

Samsung purposely placed these apps with no easy to disable them. I know this because Android 9 allowed these apps to be disabled, so it was snuck in bbn with the new operating system Androud 10.
I am also aware of my options to remove these apps but my point is all users of the Samsung phone should be able to arty least disable any preinstalled apps.
