common... no one cares about bixby it's useless, awful, garbage... let us remap the button already! Clearly none one really likes it if you had to update it to completely stop it from working... so I think it's about time (along with the nowalmost year and a half old update 8.0) you guys make more money year by year then apple and Google combined... Samsung is so large of a company you CAN afford to listen to you customers... But the auto killing bots to the side... for people that don't know samsung is actually a huge company! woth a BP division a financial institution that deals with investments and other stuff like that... they also have a military division as well.

@kingjamz, you are comparing Bixby which is less than a year old to other AIs that have been out for years. I just did a test with Google voice and Bixby.

I asked Google voice :Play Black Panther trailer on YouTube

This is the result I got : https://youtu.be/s75eUxUxjZw

I asked Bixby : Play Black Panther trailer on YouTube

Bixby gave me what I was looking for but not Google voice.

I'm not hear to say that Bixby is perfect, no AI is, I actually use Bixby and Google voice on my S8+.

You can't expect Bixby to be perfect right off the bat, all AIs have their strengths and weaknesses. My friend has an iPhone (not sure why we are still friends lol) I had him go into the settings on his, once in the settings, I asked him to asked Siri to go to the home screen, the result : Siri replied that he needs to press the home button to return to the home screen, now that's a pretty simple thing to ask and Siri has been out for years but can't do that command, whereas Bixby will return me to the home screen.

it's all in how you ask them the questions here's my result for Google assistant https://youtu.be/iSwppsDP7jM
But agreed siri has had lots of time to prefect alot of these things and it can't do a simple thing as return to home screen but she did tell you how to do it and ironically to bring her up u need to use the button she told u to use to get the home screen lol but never the less I don't need an assistant to press a button for me... I need to hands free make routes for me or tell me step by step how to cook or make something, have it read out the news for me other more actual assistant things not lazy thing (Not calling you lazy just the action you choose it to do for you is classify as a lazy thing to ask)

like if I ask Google how long my drive is y
to work she says "58 mins in light traffic" I ask bixby the same question phrased the same way she replies "you work at 2000 williams pkwy" it's like I ask how to get to work not where my work is... even to be considered a good "virtual assistant" it needs to be able to nail simple things like that IMO of course

@kingjamz, you don't sound like your happy using a Samsung device, why don't you use a different brand if you're unhappy?

no I love my phone nothing else compares to it on the market... I've been a happy Samsung lover since 2010 or whenever the s3 came out but this app came out of no where and its gotten more backlash then anything else Samsung has done thus far

@kingjamz, I'm glad to hear that you love your phone, as for Bixby, use it together with Google voice 👍🏾

I wont compromise my experience because Samsung wants to try and get the foot in the pool b4 it's to late... Google assistant was the "already to late" point it could have and m9ght be better in the future but not by much at this point... they worked in over 100k phrases you can say and use with bixby... and If you don't say it EXCATLY you won't get the result your looking for... I keep saying this but I can ask Google a question in 100 different ways and get the same response... I guess that's the difference between a dummy app and a deep learning app (Google being the latter of the 2)

just want to add....
I believe the most recent update version of Bixby lets you remap the bixby key...however reading through these posts there seems to be alot of hate going on.
Can I be the first one to assure everyone....We are all like family here. No need to have this battle going on back and fourth. As the other members mentioned above, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I for one love Bixby and It is my favorite AI..even better than google. I am really hoping to see a Bixby home speaker soon because I can only imagine the things you can do with the quick commands.

Regardless....I just want to point out the obvious. We are all on the same team, so lets all take a pause, and go back to supporting each other. We are all here to help :)

Good post, there is no need to get worked up.

That being said I think we should be able to reassign the bixby button if we choose. And no you cannot do this without a third party app, I was just told that by Samsung support

Being able to disable Bixby and remapping the button would be a useful feature. I'd definitely take advantage of it.
