I want to upgrade but I can't - Thoughts on N10

I just can't do it. I really want to upgrade to an S10 or Note10 series device. Why can't I do it?

Money isn't the problem. I could hop in store and buy one right this instant. 

It just feels... I dunno, pointless?

I currently have my Note9 and I honestly can't complain about anything missing or needing to be improved. Big, uninterrupted QHD+ HDR display, stereo speakers, headphone jack, SD slot, USB-C 3.1, IP68, Bluetooth S-Pen, rear fingerprint scanner and front Iris scanner, heart rate and SpO² sensors, plenty of RAM, fast SD845, big 4000mAh battery, great camera... What else is there?

Unfortunately, not only the Note10/+ brings only very few improvements to the aformentionned features and characteristics, but it also downgrades on some of the aformentionned characteristics.

I think you get it now. Why spend 1400$ onalmost the same thing again? The only reason why I want to upgrade is for the upcoming beta for OneUI 2.0/Android Q. Not a wise reason to upgrade, don't you think?

Really, I'm happy with my Note9. It has everything I need and some more. If anything, it gives me confidence that the Note10/+ should give around the same level of satisfaction as the Note9 (or maybe less due to some of the compromises talen, but still satisfying). Unfortunately now I have to find a solution for the betas...

I went from the Note 8 to the 10+ and my experience is rather 'bland'. No iris scanner (used that a lot) which was unfortunate. No 3.5mm jack which meant I needed to find a headphone amp/DAC for my wired headphones. The health sensors... never really used them so didn't miss much. FP on note 10+ is less finicky than the Note 8, but slow. Handling the phone caseless is a challenge for me as I keep getting accidental presses due to the near bezeless screen.

Hardware wise... you can skip this one and stick with the Note 9. I only got a Note 10+ because I renewed and got device credit without trade in and setting up another line for my sister (whom I passed my Note 8 to).

I'd say if you're well off financially and want to have some fun upgrade every 2 years. So for you I'd reccomend the S11 or Note 11, but if you really want you could wait until the S12 or Note12 because the 9 is an excellent phone. But any longer than that and the phone will feel outdated, in both performance and and more importantly design.

I mean If you compare the design of the S7 to the S10 the S7 looks fairly outdated internal components aside. Hell even the iPhoneXR/S looks outdated compared to the S10.

So I'd reccomend you hold off for now and wait for the S11/N11 unless you really like the design of the new phones, which personally I do.

Outdated design? Not so much in my opinion. If you were to give me a Galaxy A5 2015, a Note5 or NoteFE today, I'd gladly take it and use it. IMO they still look great. Otherwise I agree with you

Ça fait longtemps que j'étais pas venu sur Samsung Members et je vais te dire pourquoi pourquoi tu ne veux pas avoir un S10 où un Note10, c'est parce qu'il y a en a trop de smartphones ils en sortes tellement des smartphones ça na plus de bon sens et pour la différence qu'il y a entre un S9plus et un S10Plus, un grain de poussière mais avec une bonne différence entre les prix. À un moment donné trop c'est trop en tout cas pour moi. IL me reste 8 mois et il m'achaledéjà pour mon prochain changement de téléphone et je les ai envoyé se faire voir et j'ai porté plainte et Vidéotron à baissé mon prix de mon forfait à 95$ et 17G0 de données. Moi je vais user mon S9plus jusqu'à la fin pour voir vraiment comment temps un Smartphone peut fonctionner normalement je ne l'ai jamais essayé. Il na même pas une égratignure et avec le Samsung Dex Pad c'est fantastique. Pense y à la prochaine. Alain

Bonjour CHMULTIMEDIA, je ne sais pas si tu te souviens de moi parce que je t'ai demandé si tu avais passé une belle été et je n'ai pas reçu de réponse de votre part. Et oui il semble que tu doutes du prix d'un Samsung S10Plus et bien chez Vidéotron (Je t'ai envoyé une capture d'écran du prix de Vidéotron et avec le moins de mémoire extérieure il vaut 1469$ et Vidéotron ma offert de le changer contre mon S9plus et si tu savais le prix que sa m'aurais coûté par mois tu tomberait en bas de ta chaise et comme tu me là si bien dit le S10Plus il est laid avec la lentille dans l'écran c'est vraiment pas beau et tu ma aussi dit que pour la différence en deux téléphones très proche comme le S9plus et le S10Plus ça ne sert à rien de changer. Et j'ai réussi à faire plier Vidéotron il m'avait dit lorsque que j'ai pris le S9plus Vidéotron m'avait dit que ça me coûterait le même prix pendant 2 ans mais voilà le mois dernier une augmentation de 15$ et j'ai porté plainte chez Vidéotron et 2 jours après ce service des plaintes de Vidéotron m'ont appelé et maintenant pour mon S9plus ça me coûte 93$ taxes incluses et il m'ont donné 5GO de plus et maintenant je suis rendu à 17G0 par mois. Et je ne comprends pas se que tu dit à propos de Samsung Dex, c'est quoi tu veux dire par BACKPORTED ? Et il me semble que tu écris que le note 9 ne fonctionne pas avec Samsung Dex ?
