Loving it. Thank you Samsung. Have been waiting for so many years for this features. I can uninstall some free apps (I hate ads).

Just installed the My Files, Network Storage feature today, and I absolutely love it! I too had been using a third party, ad-supported app in order to access my external hard drives that are connected to the network via USB ports on my router. I only learned about this new feature because I had changed routers and the third party app stopped working. I salute the folks at Samsung for the major improvements over the years to One UI and now to My Files. I've owned Samsung smartphones dating back to the BlackJack in 2006, and their commitment to improving the product certainly justifies my loyalty.

Hi VENKATESH_NOTE10LITE, Could you please let us know the model number and place of purchase of your device.

If you have McAfee firewall, you need to allow port 445 to connect. Also, when asking usernane password, are you using local account to login to windows? Or use Microsoft account to login? You have to find out.

I have written a step by step post, you can try follow it.

Hi @fatbuccha. Did you ever get it working? I got the same as you connecting to my Synology Ds918+, and finally got it working by going into the Synology share settings and changing the SMB setting from a minimum version of v1 to v2. Et voila.

I am currently using note10+ and i can't seem to connect to my SMB to access files in my Win10 PC. I am using the Microsoft account and it shows an error message the credentials are incorrect; they are. i have tried making a local user and it worked. would you know why it can't connect using my microsoft account instead? i have tried a 3rd party app and it works fine using my microsoft account although it has 2 options for SMB, it asks to select either SMB or SMB2. SMB2 worked using the MS Account.

Note that i don't have any firewall installed. I have tried using Domain\Ms Account and just my MS Account. I have tried as well clearing the cache and app data but the problem still persists.

Hi Bruce-Lee, It is hard to say where it goes wrong. When you logon to Windows using local account, then you need to connect to SMB using local account. If you logon to Windows using Microsoft account, then you need to use Microsoft account to connect. I use Microsoft account to connect and I have no problem.

here is my other post, see if it helps or not.

So.. This does not work for me. At all.

I have multiple SMB shares across a variety of computers and servers here, and any time I try to login using my MSA it just fails with a generic "Can't connect. Make sure the address and other info is correct, then try again.".

Now, obviously the u/p combo below is not correct, but I have double checked the IP, port, username and password enough times to know they are correct. The screenshot simply illustrates the exact error I get trying to connect to any of the local shares in question.

I have tried domain.tld\user, user@domain.tld, the short local username (in this case it would be usern) and a few other permutations of the MSA credentials. It simply does not work here.

Creating a local user I can connect just fine, so there definitely seems to be some kind of MSA login issue, but I can't for the life of me figure out what, OR, why some people in here seem to not have an issue at all.

I'm running the latest Win10 version (2020 H2) on most of the desktops, the servers are various versions ranging from WS2012 R2 to the latest insiders build. Same issue on all of them, works great using a local account, not at all with a MSA account.

What are you, or any of the other peeps getting it to work, doing differently from me?

Hi arnehelseth, possible the username is just user. Without @domain.tld?
