I recently received a text message from a four digit number 4735. There was no text in the message just something to download. I didn't download it of course but am wondering if anyone else has gotten these?

I just did some searching. 4735 is a short code used by Rogers/Fido. Any automated messages from them will come from that number. That explains why I've seen it also. It's legit. Hope that helps.

Hi KathleenJane,

I suggest you not open any kind of external links for your own security and it could be also some sort of service message from the carrier. Contact the carrier to check if they can help you with this.

I didn't open it, i deleted it right away. I got panicky after I read an article about viruses being downloaded by text messages!

Out of curiosity, do you use Android Messages? I get that same blank text from a 4 digit number when I activate RCS Messaging for the first time. I believe it's generated from your carrier upon activation, and Android Messages displays it as a blank text message.

I don't think so. The only message app I use is the regular texting system. I haven't heard of android messaged.
