Total data usage far exceeds the usage of each app added up - Note 10

I have googled this problem, and it seems I'm not alone, but I want to post here to hopefully get some developers attention.

I just recent purchased a Note 10+ and have gone through and restricted my apps from using background data. However, when I view my data usage, it says that I've used a total of over 1GB in less than a week. When I add up all of my apps individually, I'm less than 500MB.

If I view my data usage on my carrier webpage, it says that I've used over 1GB as well, so the total data usage is correct.

Why is there such a large discrepancy between my apps usage and my total phone usage, and why is is so much higher?? I have hardly used data, and only have 4GB a month.

 

Also, I have read that uninstalling and reinstalling will wipe away any data/usage stats, but  I haven't done that yet, so that is out.

 

I am using Android 10 with UI version 2.0.

There's a thread here talking about this. I'm working on a workaround, which is not the best solution but seems to be the only workaround possible

Also send feedback reporting this issue in members app. I've sent screen shots and generated error logs to Samsung for review.

Where do I report this to Samsung? I can't get through to any chat line or otherwise? I now am showing 7.4 G usage but have only used 1G according to total of all applications. Costing me a fortune in Data. Class Action?

Thank you all for your help. tho downgrading a brand new phone to Android 9.0 isn't the most ideal, it may just have to suffice if my data gets out of control.

Glad to read this post. My first month with my Note 10 plus. Data usage total is 6 G for two weeks. The total of all the individual application data usage is 1 G. Who do we notify? This is absurd. Costing me a fortune here in Canada. When will Samsung fix? Thanks.

When you open Members app, at the bottom, tap "Get help", tap "send feedback" and then tap "error report".
