Ongoing issues with a screen flicker every few minutes and unable to use rich communications services/advanced calling since the update.

Screen flicker - screen will minimize if it can (maps), minimize keyboard, or if on a page will just quickly flicker off. Current settings are the lower refresh rate, not high at 120.

Rich communication: I had pressed no to the Google communication service agreement and have been having issues since. Chat bubbles won't show read, delivered, etc. I can't seem to find where to agree to it now.

Its driving me nuts. Help please I haven't had any of these issues until this update.

Phone is Samsung galaxy s20 plus.

Hi, we suggest you back up and reset. Here are the steps to backup your data:

Backup from Samsung account--Apps > Settings > Cloud > Backup > Select the data > Back up now.

Backup from Google account--Apps > Settings > Backup and reset.

Here are the steps for factory reset, settings>>General management>>Reset>>Factory data reset>>Scroll down to the bottom and tap on Reset>> Delete All.

Have you not read the various posts of everyone having the same bug? And even a select few that did that, and had the bug again because it's due to an issue with the update in the Samsung messaging app?
Reformatting the phone is not a solution. An update for a patch on the bug fix, is.

Not sure if I already replied to you but here's a temporary solution. It's not a fix, but it will stop the blinking /UI glitch from happening.

Settings > Apps > Samsung Messages >Click on it & Scroll down to "Allow to Appear on Top" & Toggle it OFF.

We are having the same flickering issue with our s20 phones...

In addition to trying Safe Mode, you can see if Toggling Off / On Adaptive Brightness to see if that helps?

You could also try Booting into Recovery and wipe cache & check.

Still having issues, you could backup your phone with smart switch & factory reset & check.

A factory reset will return the phone to exactly how it was when you first received it.

While it's not an actual fix, it will stop the blinking from Samsung Messages.

Go to Settings > Apps search for Samsung Messages and click on it > Scroll down to where you see "Allow Appear on Top" and Toggle it OFF.

That should stop the blinking /UI glitch.

I'm having the exact same problem with my s20 very annoying a factory reset doesn't fix this either

Did you read the post immediately before yours?

No a Factory Reset won't fix it, neither will wiping cache or anything else.

Here's the workaround from my previous post here, until it is properly fixed by Samsung.

"

Go to Settings > Apps search for Samsung Messages and click on it > Scroll down to where you see "Allow Appear on Top" and Toggle it OFF.

That should stop the blinking /UI glitch"

Can confirm, this has helped the flashing for my phone. App is still glitchy, but at least my phone is usable now lol.
And ty for the help Reddograbbit - you helped when the Samsung mods didn't lol
