Anyone else experiencing this issue after the one UI 6.1.1 update with the EQ?

Samsung did it. They ruined the music experience in one the latest UI 6.1.1 update and I'm infuriated.

So I've noticed that the equalizer UI in the Samsung music app changed significantly after the one UI 6.1.1 update. What i also noticed is the huge difference in the audio between one UI 6.1.1 and previous versions. They've completely ruined it for music enjoyers. The bass now has a lot more harmonics and is much weaker and nowhere near as clean as what it was before. I did many back and forth comparisons between my devices pre one UI 6.1.1 and after and even devices with one UI 5.1 4.1 and even my galaxy S6 with Android 7.0 they all sound exactly identical except for my 2 devices with one UI 6.1.1

In fact as far as i can tell this is the only time an android device has ever sounded significantly different then others. They all sound pretty much the same especially in the bass department. All my devices up to this point have been android and I've never noticed such a significant difference between 2 devices.

Now I'm afraid to even update my A15 5G as it's the last device i have that will support this update but it didn't get it yet. I'm a huge music enjoyer/basshead and this has completely ruined listening to music on those devices. Has anybody else noticed this? And I've messed around with the EQ and multiple settings in developer options i still cannot get it to sound like before so they've clearly changed something within the algorithm. This is ridiculous. While i absolutely love the Samsung ecosystem this just drew the line for me. I hope it's just a bug and that it'll eventually get fixed but if it doesn't I'm done with Samsung and my next device is not going to be from them.

We understand your frustration and how disappointing that must be for you when a software update affects something as personal as the music listening experience.

Please try resetting the equalizer and sound settings back to default and then readjust them to see if that helps.

You mentioned trying developer settings, but ensure that nothing related to sound processing, such as Audio Codec settings or Bluetooth audio codecs, was affected by the update. Sometimes reverting to different audio codecs can change the sound profile back to what you preferred.

We recommend you to send us an error report using Samsung members application, so that our experts will address this issue and hopefully it will be fixed in future patches if enough users report them.

Open the Samsung Members app, and then tap the + key at the bottom right > Tap Error reports > A message will populate for you to choose Always to send the system log data or Just this time. We recommend being connected to Wi-Fi network depending on your mobile network plan > You will be able to choose from Category on what issue your device might be experiencing among the list > Please enter issue details or attach a video or screenshot to make easier to understand. Then press Send icons to complete report.

Please, please, please. This has made me really frustrated since the latest update. I've known a lot of users out there who are having the exact issue. I've been satisfied with my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra since I bought it but now this issue is really ruining my overall experience. Really disappointed. I've reported this to Samsung twice so I highly hope that this issue will be solved soon.

Same here. It's really frustrating. The sound from my phone now is like coming from the radio: tinny, muddy, less bass and clarity. I've tried every setup in the equalizer, turning Dolby Atmos on and off... everything but none worked. This issue applies to either phone-speakers or Bluetooth. I've seen a decent amount of users experiencing the same issue here so seems like it's really a software bug. I already reported it using Samsung Member App. Hopefully they'll fix this soon.

Fully agree with you on this issue. It's  an absolute fail!!  Just had a chat with a person from. Samsung who said they will try to get it resolved on the next update. I hope it's true.  I'm so happy you wrote this. This is the first thing I saw when I searched for an answer! I hope lots of others ses your post and we get can all get back to good sounding music again 🙌

Yeah you will never really notice it if you don't have sensitive hearing/don't know how your headphones usually sound from the top of your head. It's not a huge difference but it's large enough for those people that it's really frustrating because it was just so much better beforehand! I don't know why they had to change it!

Same issue. Bluetooth and phone speakers. Noticed it right away. Hoping for a fix soon. Sounded 100% before.

I have the exact same problem. Unless I connect pandora via bluetooth, the sound is unacceptable. Subwoofers never hit. Connected via bluetooth will deliver the sound I want but I am not able to use Google maps or Waze. This "update" is garbage.
