Hello, I just noticed that when I get notifications from Facebook the sound is much lower than the volume what I have set on my device. How do I fix this? I want them to be the same volume.

Press the volume up/down key once and when the volume bar shows up on the screen, drag it down. Now you can change the volume for each category (including 'Notifications') by dragging them to the left or right.

I've already done these. I've also gone into each category and changed it too. I do notice something that is different in the Facebook notifications settings that is different than everything else. there is a special heading at the very bottom that says "device-level notifications". what does this mean?

I think this is facebook app issue. I am having the same issue like you. I tried different tones, uninstall facebook updates and still the same. I am just waiting on facebook app update to fix the problem.

Facebook's device-level notifications setting is for supporting Android notification channels.

Starting in Android 8, all notifications are assigned to a channel, so the user is able to choose which type of notification (s)he's willing to receive by either going to the Notifications settings or by swiping a notification and tapping on the gear icon beside it.

So, as far as it says, this option has nothing to do with your problem.

thank you. I did some more digging around and found this. Go into the Facebook App: Settings&Privacy>Notifications>Push>Tone
when you select the tone here its noticeably low and no option to increase the volume. hopefully Facebook does an update soon to fix this. found ALOT of people having the same issue. :(

It's weird that such a popular app doesn't follow system settings. However, if it was a design problem, all users should have the same issue.

Since I don't have any problem with the notification sound, if it helps you file a bug report, my app version is 231.0.0.39.113
