contact name not showing when called

Hi,

Post new software update on my s8. Now caller information is not appearing when called.it rings and nothing is shown on screen. I need to go to notification tab on top and then answer the call. Its really frustrating.  I searched online, some one mentioned to disable call protection app. But in my phone i dont have that app. 

Can any one help me?

I'd definately check phone settings and make sure caller ID is turned on though.

hi..i dont have any caller id app. went to phone settings n checked its all normal

Hi chinmay16, please try the following:

Go to Settings→ Apps→ Phone→ Storage

click clear data & clear cache
Reboot your phone. Ask someone call you and see if problem still exist.

OK, check the following:

Go to Settings→ Notifications → Expand Recent Sent ( see all)→ Change Most Recent to Blocked.

Does Phone app in there? If it is, enable it.

Next, check Settings→ Apps→ Phone

Is Notification allowed?
Does all the permission allowed?

hey..i called the customer care and they were able to solve this. my phone was in do not disturb mode..which android auto does when m driving. seems there was a glitch..it was keeping my phone in that mode always
