I have a brand new s21 ultra and a brand new flip cover case with the s pen and the window.  Yesterday I set up my phone for the first time and the case worked with it.  Last night my phone updated automatically and now it doesn't recognize the case.  I close the cover and my screen is still on, showing part of my screen through the window.  It doesn't change to the clock like it should.   I've tried: turning NFC off and on while the phone is in the case, out of the case, powered off, and on.  I tried resetting all settings as suggested by tech support, didn't work.  Really annoying because it took a month to receive the case and all customer support suggests is that I have to send it back for a replacement. I don't want to risk using my new phone without a case in the meantime!
After searching on Google it seems that this is an issue with these covers every time there is an update?
I've searched all over this forum and can't find a solution that works, does anyone have a unique suggestion? Or should I just take this as a red flag and get a different case. I really like to protect my screen though and have used Galaxy flip covers without the window for years with no issues.
 - Samsung - you should do what other companies do, which is send out a replacement before making me send back my faulty case. Charge me for it and give me a refund when you receive the defective one, don't make the customer wait even longer to use their phone.

thank you. so annoying to spend $2000 on a new phone and case, wait a month to receive the case, and now to have these issues. I spent hours yesterday setting up my new phone and now I have to reset and do it all again, and just hope that that works.. ? 😭

I typically don't update as soon as one comes out
bc I wait to see the issues and cringe bc Iknow most won't factory reset or wipe the cache

but if your an android user, this is the basics of what you need to do with updates 🤷

it updated automatically while I slept. I haven't tried the factory reset because I don't have hours to spend again doing that and re-setting up my phone. such an annoying issue with a brand new product

how do you backup with smart switch? I just tried but it only wants me to connect my phone to another phone. I've been using Samsung phones for over 15 years, and this is a garbage problem to have with a brand new case. I don't have time to be resetting my phone every time I update it

UPDATE: did factory reset. I backed up to computer smart switch, it didn't work when restoring my phone though. so then I restored my phone with the old phone, thank god I still have it but I don't know how I'm supposed to restore it in the future from just the computer. Anyway - factory reset didn't fix the problem :(
