I have a brand new s21 ultra and a brand new flip cover case with the s pen and the window.  Yesterday I set up my phone for the first time and the case worked with it.  Last night my phone updated automatically and now it doesn't recognize the case.  I close the cover and my screen is still on, showing part of my screen through the window.  It doesn't change to the clock like it should.   I've tried: turning NFC off and on while the phone is in the case, out of the case, powered off, and on.  I tried resetting all settings as suggested by tech support, didn't work.  Really annoying because it took a month to receive the case and all customer support suggests is that I have to send it back for a replacement. I don't want to risk using my new phone without a case in the meantime!
After searching on Google it seems that this is an issue with these covers every time there is an update?
I've searched all over this forum and can't find a solution that works, does anyone have a unique suggestion? Or should I just take this as a red flag and get a different case. I really like to protect my screen though and have used Galaxy flip covers without the window for years with no issues.
 - Samsung - you should do what other companies do, which is send out a replacement before making me send back my faulty case. Charge me for it and give me a refund when you receive the defective one, don't make the customer wait even longer to use their phone.

Yeah I would check as @rgs23 said...
"do you have the SPen option turned on in the settings ?"
before doing cartwheels with a factory reset 🤦

*edit*
I always...
-Save all my stuff with smartswitch
-Then factory reset
-Install the update
-Then factory reset

It may seem redundant
But I never have issues like I see around these parts of town 🤷

I did it, the s Pen has been on all along, I don't know what that pen has to do with the case not working though.
So every time the phone updates you do a factory reset? that's crazy, there are updates all the time

Hi dr03, I suggest you please reach out to live chat support by using the link below with pictures of the cover and purchase receipt for further assistance.

hi Keagan, thank you, I already spent an hour of my day trying live chat and phone tech support. they didn't offer a solution besides getting a new case. seems silly since it was working fine before the update

I purchased the case a month ago from Samsung.ca and just received it. last thing I want to do is send it back and wait even longer for a replacement

So a factory reset worked?
Unfortunately android (google) can't bake this into the software for some unknown stupid reason 🤦

As I mentioned above, I always

When an update comes out I...
-Save all my stuff with smartswitch
-Then factory reset
-Install the update
-Then factory reset
And go about my business 🤪🙃👈🤙

I'm the guy that doesn't like to say sorry afterwords,
I prefer not to make the error to begin with 🤷
(if I did muff er up I'd say sorry though 😁)

I peruse this forum everyday and when updates roll out, I cringe and want to hide under my bed and not visit here at all bc it's the same thing over n over 🤦

This is crazy though, updates happen all the time. if I have to do everything you do for each update, just so my case continues to work.. then it's goodbye Samsung for me

I agree it's a hoop to jump through, but in a way it kinda forces people to save their stuff, which alot don't do 🤦

I like to see the positive side of things,
like the glass is half full,
not half empty.
