Is anyone else experiencing problems with their Galaxy S25 camera not working in Google Meet?

I've been pulling my hair out trying to fix this, and nothing seems to work. I've tried all the usual troubleshooting steps – restarting my phone, clearing the cache, checking permissions – you name it, I've probably done it.

It's incredibly frustrating, especially when I need to use Google Meet for work or to connect with family. It seems like this might be a known issue with Google Meet and the S25, which is even more disappointing. Are there any workarounds anyone has discovered? Or are we all just stuck waiting for Google to release an update that fixes this? Let's hope they address this soon!

I was having the exact same problem and performing a cache and data delete didn't work. There was a suggestion to uninstall the app, but that's not an option on our phones as it is a system app. For me, I figured it out and it is now working. What I did was go to accounts back up/ manage accounts and Meet is in there. I removed it. I then uninstalled the updates on the app, deleted the cache & data. restarted the phone holding the power & up and deleted the system cache as well. I I also went to the apps in settings and reset the app preferences. Restarted the phone and opened Meet and to my surprise it now works great. I have been using it all morning long.

I purchased the same phone at the same time for my wife and hers worked fine out of the box. So, I knew it had to be a software issue.

Anyways, I hope this helps others.

What about running it through the browser instead of the app for now?

Confirmed, meet works through the browser but it's a pain cus it keeps wanting to open the app or the Play store to down the app. You have to enable desktop site to call via meets on browser.

I had a problem with my camera. It wasn't turning on for the front camera, but not for all of my contacts. I found a workaround: adding my contacts' email addresses resolved the issue. Video chat now works for all my contacts.

Hi SnowCat19,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We understand how frustrating it is when essential apps like Google Meet aren’t functioning properly on your Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Since you've already tried clearing cache, checking permissions, and restarting, here are a few additional steps that might help:

Possible Workarounds:

Check for App Updates – Ensure both Google Meet and Google Play Services are fully updated in the Play Store.

Try Google Meet in a Browser – Open meet.google.com in Samsung Internet or Chrome as a temporary workaround.

Since this may be a compatibility issue between Google Meet and the Galaxy S25, we recommend reporting this issue via Samsung Members app and Google Support, so both teams are aware and can work on a resolution.

We appreciate your patience, and we’ll be monitoring for any official updates.

Wow, this worked! Thank you, although I didn't do all of your steps.

The simplified steps I did which worked for me are below

1. Settings -> Accounts & Backup -> Manage Accounts
Remove "Meet" account

2. Delete cache and data for meet

3. Go into Play store and tap uninstall

4. Go into Settings -> Apps -> Meet and disable

5. Restart phone

6. Back into Play store and install meet and updates

7. Clear cache and data one more time

Try a video call.

These above steps worked for me! If they work for you as well please let me know and mark this as a solution 🙏

I'm glad I was able to help. I spent quite a while trying to find the Meet app. removal. I knew it was a software and not a hardware issue when my wife's phone had no issues. Anyways, I decided to leave no stone unturned and just went through all the steps to make sure I didn't leave anything out.

I hope it helps others looking for a solution. I'm pretty sure Google already has it solved though.

Take care!
