Galaxy SYou can try Clearing BOTH Cache & Data for the Play Store & Reboot.
Go to Settings > Apps Search for Play Store & Scroll down to Storage & Clear Both Cache & Data.
As far as I know, this is the latest version of the Play Store.
But are you talking about Google Play Services?

Galaxy SI think that you're talking about Play Services, not the Play Store.. right?
I don't see any date on the Play Store, just a version number.
Play Services does have a date, and the updates come from Google..
I'm not sure how you could force an update, would have thought that a Factory Reset might have done it.
I know that Google has been slow to push Play Services updates for some devices.

Galaxy SNO - you don't have to revert to anything.. Play Services will eventually update.
