Hi everyone,

I got s23ultra(no update 6.1.1 lol). Recently I updated my google app and I am no longer able to make calls with google assitant (not gemini) when phone screen is locked. It always asks to unlock the device first.

Any suggestions what might make it work again. Thanks

Also I bought galaxy buds 3 and my earbuds mic does not work all the time. I've reset it and now I have to put the buds back in case connect again to make the mic. Work

Hi sidhu1203,

The issue might be due to a change in permissions or settings after the Google app update. Please try the below steps and see if it helps:

Check Google Assistant Lock Screen Permissions: Open the Google app > Tap your profile icon in the top-right corner > Go to Settings > Google Assistant > Scroll down to Lock screen.

Make sure "Assistant on lock screen" is enabled, allowing Assistant to function even when your phone is locked.

Please perform Clear cache for the Google: Go to Settings > Apps > Google > Select Storage and tap Clear cache.

After clearing the cache, restart your phone and see if the issue persists.

Check App Permissions for the Phone App: Ensure the Phone app itself has all the necessary permissions under Settings > Apps > Phone > Permissions.

For the Galaxy Buds 3, since you’ve already tried resetting the earbuds, but the mic still has issues. Please check and try the below troubleshooting steps to solve the issue:

Ensure that your Galaxy Buds 3 are running the latest firmware:

Re-pair the Earbuds. Try removing your Galaxy Buds 3 from Bluetooth settings and reconnecting them

Check if the Issue Occurs in Specific Apps. Test the mic in different apps to ensure it’s not an app-specific issue.

Thank you.

Try this:

Go to Settings > Apps Search Google & Click on it > Scroll down to Storage & Clear Both Cache & Data for the app & Reboot.

You'll need to set up Google Assistant again.

I did that after reading on reddit but some users said few devices don't allow it to work because of security reasons
