How do I always get the Camera app to open with the Rear camera?  Often I go to quickly take a picture of something, but find that it's in selfie mode because a certain someone 😉 used my phone to take some selfish.  Often causes me to miss the moment that I wanted to capture.

Same problem (05/17/2022 @ 9:30 PM CDT)

Model name:          Galaxy S22 Ultra
Model number:      SM-S908U1
Software version:  Android Version 12

The camera always opens to the last used camera, front or rear, instead of opening the primary rear camera by default.

Please fix this Samsung, it's a simple fix and not having it is actually quite annoying, especially doordashing for me.

How is this not fixed? This is supposed to be one of the best android phone? Like how?! This is such a rediculously easy and sense-making feature to have. No one want it randomly open selfie mode when trying to open the camera app! Please!

I don't know about it being the best android phone I have been a samsung note user ever since 2012, and to be honest their quality is slightly downhill these past 2 years, but yes I am also tired of needing to quickly snap a picture of something and end up just taking a picture of my stupid face instead. So many missed opportunities.

I think maybe the phone opening in selfie is automatically creating a face recognition file maybe logged with gps or other data to utilize for nefarious purposes, perhaps.

I have the same issue on my S24 Ultra: When opening the camera app it always starts with the front cam (seeing myself) — all possible settings are checked, all updates are made, all caches have been recycled. I also had this on my Note 9 and after about two months of very annoying camera experience the issue has been gone without any intervention.

So is this the way I have to live with my device or is there someone with an actual solution?

Samsung Fix it please. I'm not a selfie spammer so I don't want to change the settings every time I open the Camera app.

It is already One UI 6.1, and no fix. The fix is easiest. *** 😒, Samsung. I missed so many shots!!!
