Used to work.  Suddenly stopped and I can't seem to fix it.  Error message I get is "could't verify account. server does not support authentication.  Try to reinstall address and get the same message.  Any help would be appreciated

Ok, there are 2 possibilities here.

1. Your password or username incorrect. I bet this chance is very low.

2. According from what you said. It suddenly not working. If you have not change any settings, then the problem is from Shawcable. You may need to call them to resolve your email account problem. I've experienced this before when Shaw email server was having problem.

Have you tried remove the account from phone, then add your account using POP or Exchange ActiveSync?

Also, maybe your phone need a reboot?

No luck with reboot either. Since I can log into Shaw email on my desktop, Shaw says it's a third party app issue, so they can't help

Ok, try the following:

Long press on your Email app -> Click "i" on top right -> Click Clear Cache and Data.

Then setup your Shaw account again.
