I recently went from the S9 Plus to a S20 Plus... I can't seem to figure out how to change my alerts for other apps. I thought I figured it out for the messages (SMS) but my selection didn't stay.

A few changes I dislike about this model is the finger print on the front screen, the settings don't seem to register with my choices, and they took away the LED light on the front (not a fan of the edge lighting)

1. Anyone know how to get the alerts customized for the apps I've installed?
2. Anyone know how to get my settings to save and work? (Selected a sound for alerts and its still playing the same alert for all app notifications)

Ugh so annoying when they change great features

Hi esor, You can turn off or turn on notifications for individual apps.
Settings >> Notifications >> See all >> Search for the app whose notifications you want to block. When you've found it, tap the switch next to it.
To customize the app notifications, Go to Settings >> Notifications >> See all >> Find and tap on the app that you want to customize. Depending on the app you are customizing, it may have multiple categories of notification. This allows you to customize the different types of notification separately. Tap the category you want to customize.

Hi esor, you can see all apps notifications from

Settings → Notifications

under recently sent, apps appear there. Or click See All. Click on each app and you can customise them yourself.

Which app you have problem saving the sound ?

all of the apps. nothing is saving my selection. I used to have all my apps custom so I could identify which app was alerting me based on the sound. now they're all the same sound even though I've changed one of them

Let say, Samsung Messages. If you click Settings->Notifications->See All->Messages

Click on New Messages
Make sure Alert is on
Also, under Sound, click on it and choose different sound. That should do it.

any idea why my phone wouldn't save the setting to "turn on phone screen" when picking it up from resting status?

Hi esor, Go to Settings >> tap Advanced features>> Motions and gestures >> Lift to wake (Toggle on to set the device to turn on the screen when you pick it up)
