I use the free Samsung Cloud Drive storage and as well I'm using MS OneDrive 5GB free version for other things. It's enough storage at the moment, but if Samsung storage merges into OneDrive will that then count against the 5GB I currently use, or will it be a separate entity? Thanks!

Hi Kirbymail,

Samsung Cloud currently provides 5GB of free storage to new Samsung Account users.
Samsung Cloud is being decommissioned as we migrate to Microsoft OneDrive. Depending on your device, you will be able to sync directly to OneDirve and link your Samsung Account with your OneDrive account to better manage cloud storage.

Hi Keagan,

Yes I do know how to make that happen. My concern was to clarify that I am effectively losing 5GB of the free storage. Cuz I like free ✔️

Hi Kirbymail,, We understand your situation. The storage space will be merged with one drive and the storage will not be extended.

Hi

Be sure to have enough space when you will transfer your Samsung's Cloud Data because if you are misising space on Onedrive you will loose your backup like it happened to me last day...They don't make us any gift and this is BAD, Samsung make me loose 3 device's backup

It's not seperate and will merge with the current 5GB on OneDrive. You will not get additional storage from Samsung/OneDrive merge.

You could do that, and it would be great I think for moving everything over from Samsung as storage drive but I would leave it at that. You would need to create a new Microsoft account and that sets you up for a massive amount of confusion down the road when you forget which account you are using for what, and suddenly you have two accounts sort of intertwined with Microsoft features and it really is maddening. Trust me, I've been there too. Plus the device you're using is only going to link to one OneDrive at a time so potentially if once you start adding new files you're going to wind up with files that are all over. It's not going to be be a seamless experience by a long shot and OneDrive is a whole lot more than just cloud storage. I would be more inclined to use another one source for free cloud drives rather than double up on the Microsoft.
