Samsung S21 Ultra Updates

Why does last year's model or the one before that get security updates before the latest flagship, and the flagship of flagships at that in Canada?

Example. Samsung S21 Ultra won't get any update at all in July. My friends just root their phone and apply US firmware and then use Magisk Hide to hide the root from the bootloader to ensure device remains certified. 

Then when the actual Canadian update arrives 5 months late, they use fastboot and TWRP to load into recovery.img and load the update. When this happens it's usually a week max until the next US update is out. And then they backup and load the US software and them restore their data again. 

I'm not the type to do this type of thing I like my phone as is but the Canada updates are so late missing months and such that its so tempting to follow them.

Rooting the Snapdragon variant is problematic. It's got a locked bootloader. While there's the possibility of gaining Root on some Snapdragon variants, I'm not sure if Elliwigy is there yet with the S21 series.

But I don't think that you understand the difference between Root & Flashing the US Firmware with Patched Odin do you?

It's not always the case that the Canadian devices get Security Patch Updates after the US phones anyway.

Just take a breath & the S21 phones will receive the next Security Patch Update soon enough.

So my Samsung S10 plus which has a three-year-old phone at this point in time got the July security update on July 13th while I'm still waiting for my S21 Ultra which is brand new flagship this year it's still waiting for the update... not to mention this phone was advertised to be dual-sim and it is not ... it only has one SIM card slot and the second SIM card is software locked as it is a esim which I am very ticked off about because my carrier support esim

It's been a month since the last update for the S21 phones. It'll be here soon enough.

I think you completely miss my point... my point is why is a three-year-old phone getting the security patch before the brand new top-of-the-line phone that was just released

Bingo. Old phones shouldn't be getting updates priority to new models. This is why people pay for new phones. They want and expect front of line software, or else they would just stay on the same old ones.

And Telus has just announced that the Samsung S21 line will be getting the July security update on the 10th of August... don't know about you but I'm so mad

Rogers has the next Security Patch Update scheduled for August 10th.
