screen wake Samsung messages

Hi everyone. So whenever I get a message using the stock sms app the entire screen lights up. I do not want that to happen. How do I fix it to just show the sms icon on the AOD ?

I do not want edge notification. I just want it to work like all the other apps

You can open Settings →Lock Screen →Notifications →Change view style to icons only and enable shows on Always On Display. That should do it. Please try it.

If you have AOD on, it will wake up AOD only. Unless you only have lockscreen.
