Hello,

I’m writing to report a serious issue that started immediately after updating my Galaxy S23 to One UI 7. I came in Canada and I was one of the "lucky ones" to be ìn the rollout percent. The camera quality has dropped significantly: photos are blurry or over-processed, even in good lighting, videos are unstable, with noticeable shakines, night mode and ultra-wide shots look worse than before, focus is slower and often inaccurate.

This makes the phone nearly unusable for taking decent photos or videos while i am on a trip.

Please advise if a fix is coming soon. I have already tried resetting camera settings. Many users are reporting similar problems, so I hope Samsung will address this urgently. Or if a workaround is in place, let me know.

After the recent update my S23 ultra does not allow me to use the back camera unless it is on 0.6 magnification and the other magnification the screen is black. The front camera works though. Any advice is appreciated. I reset the camera, deleted the data in the camera app... what else?

I just wanted to chime in and say that I am in Canada and have the Samsung Galaxy s24 and I'm also experiencing these issues after the 7.0 rollout. I've tried most of the suggestions offered by Samsung already but they don't work that they're a few I haven't tried yet which I will try but I don't think they're going to work if I'm honest. It isn't just the camera either. I'm relieved to find out that I am not the only one having the focus and shaky blurriness as well with the resolution even in good lighting. I was taking pictures next to a lamp and they came out almost indecipherable in some shots. It can't really pick up much of anything in the dark either like it used to. I really hope the new fixes will come in soon. Thanks to everyone for sharing your experiences. At least I know it's not just my phone.

I also have the same issues, wide angle videos are shakey blurry and even when editing the video fastforward it makes videos harsh not stable not smooth like before the update.

This is not the way

Harsh.. that's the word. I was struggling to phrase it properly. I like to take high resolution images from video by repeatedly hitting the image capture button. Before, active movement would come out beautifully. Now it's more harsh looking and trying to edit makes it look even worse. The new photo manipulation is awful. The Gemini edit Auto before and after turns people and animals captured in images into cartoons and if I try the more manual approach through the pencil edit function at the bottom of the images in my gallery where they have filters Etc, those filters make the images look even worse lighting-wise and also appear grainy to top things off. I do not like the new Option of sliding on each filter contrast lighting Etc. This is redundant as this feature is already available in the menu list and is much more reliable

Samsung S22, I'm so frustrated and angry... after your update, terrible camera, terrible photo quality, terrible video.... everything is dark and unprofessional. The screen itself is now darker. Shouldn't it be getting better, not worse? When do you think you'll fix this bug, because the problem is clearly coming from you?

same here, S23 Ultra. Camera quality noticeably degraded, among other draw backs. However the camera is a serious issue to me, the main reason of buying the phone in the first place

I am experiencing the same camera issues with my S23 Ultra following the One UI 7 update. Image quality is now inferior to that of budget smartphones, rendering the device's camera unusable. Prior to the update, I found the S23 Ultra's camera performance rrally good. A update to fix the issue is required asap.

I'm having the same issue with an a15. The camera is terrible now where before it was surprisingly good for an inexpensive phone. Also the battery life is useless after this same ui7 update.

Is there a way to roll it back?

My s23 ultra picture quality has changed also. When I look back through my gallery my images were crisp, and vibrant. I always use pro mode. Now everything looks flat and soft, I also know the quality dropped because the image filesize is far smaller than before leading me to believe there's less detail in the picture..I was looking to upgrade my phone but if this is how Samsung operates I will move on to another brand.

I agree totally with all the comments. I have an 23 ultra and my wife has a 24 ultra both struggling to get good pics since the update!
