So Unpacked happened yesterday, and some great devices got released, but when it came to the Note20 (not the Ultra) I seemed a bit disappointed in the approach of the device. The Note is Samsung's powerhouse phone, it's the phone that tells everyone that you mean business, but more than ever, this Note20 seemed like a Galaxy S with an S-Pen.
Don't get me wrong, the Note20 is a beautiful phone, I just don't think it's price point is where it should be, especially when you're comparing it to the S20 series. The base model S20 beats out this phone in almost every category, especially with that 120hz display and a full glass and metal design. The base S20 is arguably the best valued phone in Samsung's lineup because you're getting 98% of what you'd get with the Ultra phones. The Plus and Ultra phones are special in their own ways because they do provide some seriously great features, but that's why I felt disappointed with the Note20.
I hope Samsung will in the future make a better base model Note device, I know that the S-Pen is such a powerful tool, especially when it's portable in a phone form factor, but the S-Pen isn't the only thing that makes the Note series, a Note series device 😉

I absolutely agree, The Note20 obviously does have differences compared to the S20 series, but my point was, the Note20 isn't as defined to be a Note phone the same way the Note 20 Ultra is, aside from the S-Pen, Notes are defined by their bleeding edge displays, expandable storage and many more Pro level features, and while I know every flagship from Samsung this year is a good device, I really believe the Note20 could've been more 😊
I think the marketing decision surprise me too. Note20 and Note20U have huge gap on spec and price. I understand that Note20U has high price tag since all the goodies are in 1 phone. But Note20, the settle point seems to too low. The spec should be higher. But...I am not marketing people, can't say too much on this. I will go for Note20U anyway. Die hard Note fans 😅

Right now the big discussion for everyone is Note20 spec and its price. If price too low, lost the premium phone status. Price too high, people not agree with spec.
The issue is samsung built a phone that if released by any other company, would cost 700-800 dollars, but they priced it at 1399. The note 20 should cost at least 300 dollars less than it is currently.
The Galaxy A71 5G retails for around 800CAD. Compare its specs with the 1400$ Note20 5G. That's an awful lot of similarities for almost twice the price. Does the pen and some camera improvements justify doubling the price?
yeah i have to agree there no boom/fire with the notes anymore hasn't been since like the note 7 (🤭💥) all humor aside. I'm being very serious though I really hope samsung starts stepping up their game for the note phones its been a disappointing the last few phones. I remember when a note didn't feel like an s now the note feels so similar is sad #note #not #a #powerhouse.

I love the Note phones! they're really really good at being a powerhouse, but I felt the regular Note20 didn't meet that expectation we were hoping it would, that being said, the Note20U is an absolute beast and I think next year Samsung will hopefully improve upon the base Note.
