Depending on which browser you are using, there are free Ad-blockers for Samsung Internet & of course paid versions as well. Some free types like Blockada are easy to find & install with many options.

thanks for suggesting this. I am quite sure it is bell who is responsible as I had just downloaded and registered for some bell TV thing on my phone, and after reading the Google search I did I have learned that bell tracks everything I an doing online and manipulating the results and ads that I see. God knows what else. I'm returning this phone tomorrow, i phone maybe... any suggestions on secure phones?

Bwanet is a homepage Bell forces on the phones they sell.

Just change your homepage and problem fixed.
All carriers do that. Fido/Rogers forces you on their fido.com Rogers.com for instance

It is installed by provider as a home page in the internet browser. Just disable or remove the page on the settings of your browser home page.  in Google Chrome you tap on top right,  choose settings from the menu and the homepage
