I have a general question that relates to all the current phones without a headphone jack. It is my understanding that inorder to use wired headphones with these newer phones you have to plug into the usb-c port with some form of dongle. My question is "Is there a dongle that would allow you to plug in a charger and a head phone jack at the same time"? It would have to be some type of splicer. Would usb-c even support this type of technology.

Hi 300kc, if you search Amazon.ca, there is a lot of usbc adapter with headphones and charging. However, Samsung does not have this accessory and I think they are not recommend you use the 3rd party accessory. Therefore, use it with your own risk.

buy a pair of wireless headphones or buds, unless it's a LG V series device, Buds or wireless headphones are just so easy and affordable

I have many pairs of wireless and wired headphones. However, in my car I plug my phone in as after awhile the blue tooth lag becomes unbearable. Especially when you're in your car for 4+hours on a single trip

Hi 300kc,
It is not available as of now which allows you to plug in a charger and a headphone jack.

Here is the link for USB-c-headset-jack-adapter: https://www.samsung.com/ca/mobile-accessories/usb-c-headset-jack-adapter/

Samsung always recommends to use the original accessories to get a better product experience.

Thanks, Tallman for your information.

Thank you very much. I'm considering updating from my note 9 to a note 20 series device. Since I'm expecting it not to have the headphone jack, I'm trying to figure out ways to work around it.

Hi 300kc,

You are welcome and thanks for your interest in Samsung devices. We do not have official information about the Note 20 series in Canada as of now. I suggest you to wait until to get the official device information. Please check on the Samsung Canada website frequently to know the Note 20 series information.

The requirement for use of the USB port for wired headphones, and then the inability not to charge concurrently via the port, is a poor design change. They're going backwards in functionality.

if a Moderator suggest you to wait, you are better to wait...
Many people complain about loosing the jack phone, maybe Samsung will take it in consideration and reintroduce it in the Note20x Series ... who knows !!!

I'm really hoping that's the case. I personally feel Samsung has made all the right moves in regards to hardware, except for the removal of the head phone jack. As much as I love my Samsung uflex and Galaxy buds, there are still situations when the corded capabilities are necessary.
