Galaxy SYou need to open Samsung Email app → click 3 bars on top left → Gear icon on top right → click on email account
-
turn off Sync email.
The one, Sync, from tool bar will stop all Syncing between all accounts, which include your Google account, Microsoft account, Samsung account...and more.
If you are using Gmail, you need to click 3 bars on top left from Gmail app → Settings → your Gmail email address
Uncheck Sync Gmail

Galaxy SIf you touch and hold the sync icon in the pull down menu it will show you all of the accounts that you are turning sync off by using that method.
Tallman's method only turns sync off for email
