My messages arent working

Which messages, Text, Facebook etc?

If it's Text Messages, download Google Messages from the Play Store & make it your Default Messaging app. Samsung seems to be be switching to Google Messages anyway.

If it's Facebook, no idea I don't use it.

Thanks. It's messages. Blue icon... 3 dots. I'll type about 20 words then it freezes and crashes. It's insanely annoying.

Both Samsung & Google Messages have blue Icons, which one are you using, the one with dots or the one with lines?

If it's the one with dots, that's Samsung Messages & I'm saying that you should switch to Google's Messages, (the top one in the screen shot) the one with lines in the Icon. Once you do, then I'm sure that your issue will be resolved.
