So I take a lot.of astrophotography snaps with my last 3 Samsung devices. I've always had to adjust the manual focus a few stops back from max but with the S21 no matter what I choose half the photo is blurry. I find this completely unacceptable and can only think that there is a hardware fault with the camera?
I should be specific as well, this is only with the main lense in pro mode, when I use ultra wide its very crisp.
Edit: I am using a tripod, and my watch as the remote shutter. To be clear this only occurs when using the main lense in pro mode, not the ultra wide. So I know it's specific to that lense.
first, are you using a cellphone tripod for your photos ? if you capturing it handheld zoom lenses for example 3x and 10x ought to come blurry and might be the shake from your hand. and if you're using cellphone holder/tripod contact Samsung customer care.
I use my cellphone tripod but it seems to be coming crisp like your 3rd picture. But also I am using timer instead of manually pressing the shutter button on phone and also if you wanna try manual setting with shutter halfway open and longer time, that might help too.

Although somewhat informative @times It seems at certain moments it feels like nobody reads the words or their assumptionistic and likeliness radar is a tad askew 🙃👈

thank you, part of me wonders if at higher ISO the depth of field is VERY narrow. I have taken many photo's like this in the past with no issues, so I was a little dumbfounded when I couldn't seem to focus out if this. I will try the ISO next time to see if that makes a difference.
