I am just wondering if anyone else has had the same issue as me with the camera on the S21 Ultra? When recording a video and panning the camera it is quite jumpy, it seems like jumping between lenses and trying to decide which one to use. It sort of stops and starts. Just not smooth at all. Even when I'm taking photos and moving the camera it just seems laggy. Hard to find the right words to describe it. I tried 8K and also UHD at 60fps for the videos and getting the same issue. And the video quality is so poor.

I done a software update which hasn't helped. I also tried panning camera slowly but still its too bumpy especially when panning from low light area to bright light area.

I'm having the same issue. I noticed it when I first got the phone but the more mobile my baby gets the worse it seems trying to follow him around. Samsung please fix this!

I'm not sure if this is related to the issues you are all experiencing but I've noticed a lot of stutter when panning. Most noticeable when using a gimbal.

I played around a bit and noticed that the stuttering would lessen or disappear completely when I changed the display frequency from 120hz to 60hz. I'd welcome anyone else to try it and let me know in case it's just having a placebo effect on me.

I just tried the frequency change as well between those and definitely noticed that the problem would dissappear as well. Hopefully this can be fixed for the UHD60 setting.

Did you ever get this resolved? I had Verizon replace my s21 ultra with a new one and it still does exactly as you mention. Only reason I bought this phone was for camera and video specs now it has me wanting to go back to boring iphones where the cameras at least work

I had the same issue on my previous phone oneplus 9 pro, and i fixed it by adding camera app to game launcher

I've had an S8 then a Pixel 3 then an iPhone 13 Pro. I just got a brand new S22 because I still prefer Android. I bought the iPhone for its superior video recording and thought the Samsung could perform similarly.

The phone arrived today and the first thing I've done was test the video recording quality. I haven't added any apps nor have I logged in with my Google account. I simply ensured I had the latest system update.

Well, you know why I ended up in this thread -- I noticed the jumpy/stuttery video on a smooth pan across the room. I'm just trying to record at 1080p @ 60fps. I tried all different scenarios:

  • turned stabilization on/off
  • turned tracking auto-focus on/off
  • changed filetype to HEVC and back

I really wanted to ditch iOS to get back into a Samsung but this looks unlikely now. Video recording is one of my top priorities since I have growing children.

Buddy, no matter what you do...video will always be jumpy and stuttery. It seems to happen more when focus jumps between 3 cameras and software is not able to smoothen the transition. Samsung still needs to work a lot more on its video recording capabilities...Apple is way far more advanced in this category.
