I just wanted to share an issue that I had with our Samsung stove and possibly connect with others whom have had the same experience. While the oven was on, we heard a loud pop and saw flames coming up from behind the control panel. Fortunately, the fire did not last long and there was no damage done, however, it could've been much worse. I did some research, and it appears that this is not an isolated issue with this model stove.

You can download an excel report here from this US website;

https://www.saferproducts.gov/PublicSearch

There are also multiple reports on the US Samsung forums;

https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/forums/searchpage/tab/message?advanced=false&allow_punctuation=f...

The stove was manufactured in April 2016. A recall has not been issued as far as I know.

I contacted Samsung and they have agreed to replace the control panel, however, I am concerned that they are replacing the panel with an equally defective and potentially dangerous part. When I contacted Samsung to get more information regarding the replacement parts, I was brushed off and told not to worry. All that I am asking for is some assurance that Samsung have recognized there is a problem with these control panels and that the replacement parts are safe to use.

Ours caught fire too a few weeks ago…same exact story. Oven was preheating and where the oven/“bake” plugs into control shorted out. Could have been a lot worse. Thanks everyone for sharing. Was debating buying a new control panel but seeing all this concerns me. Definately should be a recall…think I may be done with Samsung

Mine caught on fire ten months ago, luckily we all made it out. My kitchen was completely destroyed and the damage to my home was extensive and made it unlivable. You all may want to consider recalling these before someone loses their life.

I have also had the exact same issue and if my wife was not right in front of the stove to shut it off and pull the stove away from the wall i am sure that we would have lost the house. Is Samsung going to do anything about my stove

it just happened to me.  Heard a pop just happened to be in another room.   Walked out and saw flames.  Yelled for my husband to shut off the breaker to the kitchen.   No damage to the house thank heavens.   I agree with the person who said no more Samsung appliances for me.

Hi, We had the same problem tonight.  My husband was able to put it out with a fire extinguisher.  However there is extensive damage to my cabinets and black soot all over every surface in the house.  Not to mention the horrible electrical burn smell permeating every room.  Sleeping with windows open  while it freezing outside.  Fire Department was called and they said the panel caught on fire and pulled out stove out into the driveway.

Was Samsung responsive to you as I will be calling them in the morning?  Would you happen to know a good way to touch base with them?

Thanks. Brenda Selzer
