Just received a pair of watch 7 44mm for me and my wife. Got them early which was cool!

Noticing a big difference in battery life.
Both came out of the box about 36 hours ago with about 80% battery.
I had to charge mine the first time around 20 hours later, but then it went from 80 to 10% between midnight and 6am while sleeping.
At this exact moment after charging about 4 hours ago I'm at about 70% with an estimated 11hrs remaining.
My wife on the other hand has yet to charge hers.
She is currently at 14% with 8hrs remaining!!!
The battery data for app usage is very similar on both, with only a few % being used by apps or even the ui. Usage for calls and anything has been limited to just us both testing it out.
Spoke with customer service and was directed to the "how to save battery" info. The best I get even with battery saver is an additional 6 hours.
The only thing different between us is I fully set up samsung health and everything else. She only went through the initial setup and connection to the wear app.
We get all the same data on the watch itself.
Seems like setting up the extra stuff may be a significant cause of battery usage, that isn't directly using the app to show the app usage.
Going to attempt resetting mine and removing the extras from my phone and not connecting them, to see if it improves battery life.
Very odd that 1 dies fast and the other is lasting days on a single charge, with identical settings on the watches.

Yes, setting up and enabling more things will cause the battery to drain faster.

And also, the watch needs a few days, up to a week or 2, to assess and learn your usage pattern and to optimize the battery for you.

So in the beginning, the battery will always be horrible.

Ah ok! So maybe I should hold off reseting.
That might explain why the first night was good and last night was horrible.

Couple things you can disable if you don't use it. Open Wearable app -> Watch settings -> Apps

Click on any app that you don't use. I did disable Assistant, Google Message and removed Google account on watch. Because I have phones with me all time. These apps are no use on my watch.

I also defind what notifications can send to my watch. I only get calls, email and text message, whatsapp from watch. Others can be left on phone. Hope this help.

Hi swashman,

Firstly, congratulations on your new Galaxy Watch 7. Yes, as said by Deeezzyyy it is a new device, it is possible the device is still capturing usage pattern to optimize battery performance.

You can try enabling power saving mode on : Head into your Settings > Scroll down the screen and select Battery > Toggle on Power saving.

Enabling the setting will turn off the wake-up gesture, Always on Display, Wi-Fi, limit CPU speed, decrease the brightness by %, limit background network usage, limit background location and background syncing, reduce screen timeout to 15 seconds and disable any software updates.

Thank you.

Baloney!!!  Why have a SMART watch with so many limitations????

Enabling the setting will turn off the wake-up gesture, Always on Display, Wi-Fi, limit CPU speed, decrease the brightness by %, limit background network usage, limit background location and background syncing, reduce screen timeout to 15 seconds and disable any software updates.  Seriously???

I will have to play around some more then. It just seems silly to need to use battery saver when my wife's has lasted 2 days without charging, using same settings.
Maybe the battery logging needs to be updated? It shows very little app usage. If the major difference is that I've added apps, shouldn't that be tracked usage?

Currently I only have messages, what's app, and Garmin jr(my daughter has a location tracking watch). My wife has the same notifications as we set that up the same.
I understand what everyone is saying, about giving it time. Just super weird that we are having different experiences with battery.1721420839414.jpg

I would give it a bit of time, mess with the apps and settings some more. If it doesn't get better, factory reset it. And give it a few more days.

If still not good, contact samsung support for exchange or return. Can never rule out that you might have gotten a dud. But will need a few days for battery optimization for sure.

Also, new devices, new softwares. It's never fully optimized without bugs unfortunately.

So battery life was getting worse. Was down under 10hrs now. Did a factory reset, with no improvement.

I have now contacted support, however have learned that they don't want to let me exchange. I now have to send a brand new device, less than a week old, for service.
