Hi.
I'd like to find out how to get the carrier name (e.g. Rogers) to display in the status/notification bar on Android.
On iPhones you usually see the carrier name in the top left corner of the screen, that's what I want to get on my phone (Samsung Galaxy Note 10).
Is it possible, and if so how do I do it? I usually travel and I need to see what network I'm connected to fast without pulling down the notification bar
Thanks.

Maybe the user fears being in roaming. Carriers have a strict policy about roaming. More than 50% of your monthly usage is in roaming? Service is cut. This is of particular interest if you live where coverage is spotty.

Interesting...

I am doing everything I can to find out how to get rid of my carrier being blasted on my status bar. There's no need for it at all and it could create a safety issue. I've gone into developer options and I haven't found anything there. Who knows what the setting is even called in the  tech world, I sure don't. I did notice that when I have a notification my carriers name disappears only to come back when I clear my notifications...

This is phenomenal if you never ever leave your carriers service coverage area! Yes I wouldn't want it blasted there either, if I never left my carrier service coverage area!

This has nothing to do with forgetting what carrier you're on. Stay in one place it doesn't matter at all. I'm an over the road truck driver, what cell tower I am currently on, because I roam a lot. And in some areas I have more than one available carrier to roam on. On most phones, except the newer galaxies, you can nearly pull down your notification from the top of the screen and see what carrier you're on currently. So please understand that everybody doesn't stay in one single location, and uses one single carrier for the entire time of their cell phone use.

For all of you people who are responding who never leave the city that you currently live in. Would you kindly offer a little bit of respect in courtesy and answering this question to those who roam often? Not everybody stays on the carrier that they pay their phone bill to when they're traveling.

I mean yes, I pay my phone bill to T-Mobile USA. But often my telephone will roam on US cellular, or Iowa wireless, or some other regional phone company that I do not pay my phone bill to. And there are times that I have choices in which carrier I can roam on. It is a **bleep** of a lot easier, to swipe down from the notification bar and see the carrier name that I am currently on in the upper left hand screen, without some smart alec in the Samsung community saying you should know who you pay your phone bill to. Cellular Roaming is real.

To add to this. When cellular roaming, your main carrier usually has a preferred roaming partner that you automatically connect to. However in many markets there's also a secondary and sometimes third carrier that you're able to connect to. So I am guessing that the Samsung community would want me to go deep within settings waste about 5 minutes of my time and find out what carrier I'm on in the network settings? Is this the best answer the Samsung community can provide?

people have been complaining about NOT wanting to see the carrier name in the status bar for so long... so makes sense that it's not there anymore. It's so much cleaner.

ats funny because I cant get the carrier name off of my note 10. Im using metro by t mobile and it automatically popped on there when i put the t mobile sim card in. Its there as long as there are no notifications. if i get a notification it goes away. I want to hide this all the time if possible
